Cake Cutting Trend of 2021 and Beyond?

Our Maine Wedding DJs have seen a trend in “behind the scenes” cake cuttings. Couples are deciding that a song and announcement are not needed. This is usually because it’s just a formality for a photo opportunity or they’re having a dessert that cannot be cut like a dessert bar from Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot. We love (and secretly hate) this approach. Why do we hate it? Well, when mom didn’t know that you didn’t want the announcement or song and comes to scold us for not doing so. Lesson here – tell the people closest to you that you are not doing a cake cutting – I promise you that your entertainment will thank you. And we love it because it keeps the night flowing and leaves more time to party on your dance floor.

You’re Doing a Cake Cutting

Good. Now, let’s talk the best cake cutting songs coming up for 2022 and 2023. You’ll find a theme here – cake, sugar, dessert, and the like. You’ll also find that the songs can be fun and unique. Just because you’re doing a traditional formality does not mean that you have to have a traditional song. Make mom happy because you’re cutting a cake and having a ton of fun with it, too.
