A Ceremony at The Black Point Inn

I have seen a lot of stellar location for Maine Wedding Ceremonies… but, I have never seen anything quite like this location at the Black Point Inn of Scarborough, Maine. It was a mid-October wedding in 2019 and it was magically bright, warm, and perfect after a few days of weather that wasn’t the best. Mother Nature must have known that Alison and Greg had this beautiful plan. The clouds parted and the ocean breeze felt great – pumpkins, red roses, and an elegant arbor were just the eye candy for such an intimate wedding ceremony.

The Clients

Alison and Greg were getting ready for their second marriage. From the moment I met them in South Portland, Maine I knew that this was something very special to them. More special than their first weddings – I just got that feeling. They had a vision of complete perfection and wanted all of their I’s to be dotted and their T’s to be crossed. Their wedding was going to be done right and there wasn’t a corner to be cut. This is a characteristic that I appreciate and value in my clients.

The Reception

Inside the guests enjoyed a live pianist and cocktails in the main entrance and sunroom of The Black Point Inn. Cocktails were served and a photo booth was made available by a separate vendor. Pinch Me Planning had been hired by the couple to facilitate the wedding planning and reception. I was thankful to be able to work with them for the first time. During the cocktail hour The Black Point Inn got ready for the salads and we tidied up the amber uplighting and music selections for the grand entrance of Alison & Greg.

Dancing

We kicked the night off with Earth Wind & Fire’s – September and continued to ebb and flow through genres and decades that their guests were dancing to. The crowd was primarily of the 40+ age group so there were a ton of disco and classic rock incorporations to the dancing portion of the evening.

The Client Says it Best

“We could not have been happier with Chris. We booked him way out from our actual wedding date and he was right on top of things for all those many months, always available, quick to respond and helping to keep on track with our planning. The ceremony and reception were literally perfect! We had needed a lot of help choosing music that would compliment the vision we had for ourselves as well as create a fun and joyful experience for our guests and Chris worked closely with us to make that happen. Never intrusive, too loud or to quiet, seamless transitions and a wonderful dance floor, Chris’s execution of our music vision was amazing. Our venue’s event manager made a point of commenting to us how professional he was and that many DJ’s are not as prepared and as easy to work with as Chris was. This was a high end popular venue on the coast of Maine so not so easy to impress! We absolutely recommend Chris Bouchard without reservation. Not a single reason to not hire Chris for you big day!” – Alison Cushing, 12/8/2019
