The Big Day
Megan and Joel tied the knot at The Jordan Hotel, Sliders Restaurant, in Newry, ME. The couple were on two different pages when it came to having a formal wedding; Megan wanted to elope and Joel wanted the big bang wedding day. Who can blame Joel? Getting your closest friends, and loved ones, all in the same spot is magical in-it-of-itself. The crisp air of Sunday River, the majestic views of the mountains, and the love in the air provides a heart warming atmosphere.
The Ceremony
Megan and Joel had exchanged vows overlooking the mountains at Sliders Restaurant. The couple allowed time for unison during a sand ceremony, too. The bridesmaids walked down to an instrumental of Edwin McCain – I’ll Be, Megan to Ruelle – I Get to Love You, and the recessional an instrumental of Edwin McCain – I Could Not Ask For More. Megan joked that they were having an Edwin McCain themed ceremony… This could not have been further from the truth… but, funny nonetheless!
Cocktail Hour
I created a 90’s – 2000’s pop-rock themed music list for Joel’s musical tastes. The guests, the bride, and groom enjoyed this list while hanging out on the deck of the restaurant. After a humid week, and month, the couple lucked out with a very comfortable day up in the mountains. Joel thanked me later for such an awesome, custom, music list. He was initially a little timid but could not have been more pleased with the music selections Bouchard Entertainment made.
The Reception
The guests got to enjoy a “food bar” which was the first time I had seen this at a wedding… let alone, Sliders. Start off with a salad made to taste and follow the line to perfectly cooked roast beef. Up next: tortellini, fettuccini, sausage, and chicken with Alfredo sauce or marinara cooked to order. Turn to your right to find a mashed potato bar – cheese, bacon, sour cream, the works. It was a very unique dinner and everyone enjoyed the smattering of food and the creativity to which it was presented by the hotel. A few family kodak moments then the guests danced the night away to the tune of 70’s, 80’s, and 2000’s greatest floor fillers.
