Unlike a hotel ballroom where you’re in and out in six hours, this property is designed for couples who want their wedding to feel like a private estate retreat.
Located at 56 King Hill Rd, the venue sits on 25 acres of manicured grounds and rugged Maine hillside, offering a specific flow that works well for larger groups.
The Ceremony: The Ceremony Field
Most ceremonies here take place in the field overlooking the mountains. The natural slope provides a built-in “stadium” feel where every guest has a clear line of sight. Mauli and Adam hosted theirs in the wooded area. From a technical standpoint, the field is a wide-open space, so we always recommend a professional audio setup with wind-screens on the microphones to ensure the vows don’t get lost in the breeze.
The Reception: The Historic Barn
The barn itself is a classic 19th-century timber-frame structure. It’s a high-volume space, meaning the acoustics can be “lively.” To keep the energy right for a 150-person guest list, we focus on speaker placement that fills the floor without overwhelming the tables near the walls.
The “Stay and Play” Logistics
What sets Kings Hill apart is the on-site lodging. The Inn can house the immediate wedding party or family, which completely changes the morning-of timeline. There’s no rushing between a hotel and a venue; you’re already there.
