That there are other resources available to you outside of The Knot and the million other websites that give you song ideas? As a DJ I see a lot of the same questions from couples… Especially when it comes to their ceremony and first dance together. It’s great to see all of the different resources available to brides and grooms, nowadays… But, I’d like to simplify your choices with 2 links: DJ Intelligence Top 200 and/or WeDJ Top 200
You can find the top 200 most requested songs at a wedding reception, the top 50 processional, recessional, and bridal march songs. You can also find songs listed in order of decade as well as the top 50 songs for your first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son.
Believe it or not….
Just because someone else used it doesn’t minimize the songs importance to you and your fiance. If it’s in the top 200, top 50, or wherever… Someone else has used it… a lot of someone else’s, for that matter. Heck, even if you think it’s original… Someone else has used your song. Make your wedding day about you and don’t worry about anyone else. That’s what I think!
Now, as a DJ specializing in weddings…
When I get questions about what music to use I send my brides these links. They either find something they like or it sparks an idea for something else. 100% of the time.
