Your Maine Wedding DJ: Chris BouchardThe Venue

Boothbay Railway Village is a quaint little spot in Boothbay, Maine. It’s a village, in the busy Boothbay area, that has old train, buildings, and other antique attractions. I was, honestly, infatuated with it. The “venue” was the old town hall that was original to Boothbay but had been moved and restored to its current location. It’s not a big place but it has a ton of character. If you’re a fan of antiques, are inspired by history, or just aim to do something different, the railway village may be up your alley. It’s a unique experience that’s definitely off the beaten path. More about…

The Couple

Sarah and Shane wanted a unique experience. Their musical tastes were a big part of their requests and it provided a unique educational moment for them. After a lot of conversation Sarah and Shane allowed their musical tastes to be working into the dinner & cocktail hour. This allowed their personalities to be worked into the wedding during a time that most people just hear “background noise”. This is a wonderful tool, for all brides, to understand. Not everything has to be in the dancing portion of the night – you can tailor your wedding, to you, but simply theming your cocktail and dinner hours.

The Dancing

For a small crowd we had a great dance floor. Working in Yellowcard, Blink 182, and New Found Glory offered a moment of “something different”. Like I said, Sarah and Shane were huge on their punk-style music and I promised I would get it worked into the dancing. No surprise, it went off without a hitch! Bringing everything right back to crowd pleasers and age appropriate floor fillers. I appreciate the opportunity to do something a little different out there…
