The Ceremony

Unlike most weddings I am a part of Arenda and Gard had already been married on December 23, 2017. Arenda really wanted a Christmas Wedding but also really wanted to have their celebration in a venue their family could enjoy. The compromise was that she would get to be married in December and have their celebration on June 2, 2018. Arenda and Gard know the owners of The Great Outdoors and I was fortunate to be trusted with their big day.

Cocktail Hour

In lieu of a ceremony Arenda, Gard, the bridal party, and family took picture to start the day. The Great Outdoors overlooks a wooded area and Pleasant Pond. It’s almost like you are camping the whole time you are there. The beautiful couple took their photos overlooking the pond. The weather was perfect for a June wedding.. not too hot, not too cold, and bright sunny skies. Friends and family enjoyed drinks and light snacks outdoors and inside the dining hall of the venue. A custom classic rock list was played in sync between the two locations.

The Reception

The reception hall is quite large providing a very unique sound inside. Echo, boom, and heat are all things to be considered if you’re getting married at The Great Outdoors. Arenda provided me with a lot of music she liked. Gard, a farmer, wasn’t too picky either. They celebrated, danced, and relaxed while enjoying a little bit of older music and the early 2000’s. You know I mixed in some Top 40 choices, too.

In The Words of the Bride:

“Chris did incredible at my wedding reception! He made everything smooth, and all the transitions seamless. He made everything unique to exactly what we wanted, and made sure the night was extra special for us! I highly recommend him!”
