On Saturday 8/5/17 I had the opportunity to provide Wedding DJ and MC services for, the now, Rachel and Shane Granger. Their ceremony and reception was in the backyard of their, beautiful, home in Auburn, Maine.
Rachel and Shane went above and beyond when it comes to a do-it-yourself wedding. Their house is way up on a hill near the Martindale Country Club. The hill is so high that Rachel and Shane rented golf carts to help get people up and down! At the very top of the property, behind their house, Shane cleared out a large wooded area, pulled the stumps, and planted grass for the wedding day.
The potluck for the wedding was immaculate. One would have thought that the wedding was catered. Family provided an Italian style buffet with lasagna, ziti, fresh bread and home baked chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
Even though it rained on their wedding day everything was beautiful. The night went long and the fun never stopped. Rachel and Shane proved that with the time, the effort, and the resources, you can have a DIY wedding that looks like any outdoor wedding from The Knot.
Thank you, to the newlyweds, for having me as a small part in your big day. I had a blast working with you. The honor is truly mine. See you in 10 years! 🙂
